We are selling a pair of our Meridian DSP33 loudspeakers that were used as part of our Los Angeles showroom's home theater system. The speakers are relatively small but pack a punch due to their powerful built-in amplifiers and onboard DSP that extend bass response beyond 'normal' limits of a speaker this size. The DSP will automatically protect the speakers from being overdriven with too much volume, so rest-assured that you will not "blow up" these speakers by accidentally turning up the volume too loud. These speakers can be used either vertically or horizontally (perfect for a high-end center channel). These speakers can even be used as a high-end PC multimedia speaker if connected to the digital output of a soundcard. Bass response is to 55Hz.
These speakers need to be used with digital sources, such as Meridian's excellent preamp controllers or a source that can output a digital signal...up to 96kHz/24-bit. These speakers use Meridian's famous digital-to-analog converters for the smooth and clear sound. These speakers are 'time-aligned', something very few analog "passive" speakers can attain. The speakers feature tone controls, phase control, and phase-corrected balance controls.
