The video below shows a Crestron system controlling a Lutron HomeWorks lighting control system, taken in a Beverly Hills estate designed by Landry Design Group and built by Fort Hill Construction. This project won DSI four different awards, including Lutron's prestigious 'Best Total Light Control Project'
Often there is confusion between what Crestron and Lutron systems do, as they are both popular brands found in the world's finest homes. In a nutshell, Crestron is famous for their excellent home automation systems, and Lutron is primarily known for lighting control. Crestron happens to make their own lighting system, too, but Crestron and Lutron can happily coexist and they 'communicate' with each other very well. Lutron also makes the popular Sivoia line of motorized drapes and shades, and a Crestron system can control those, too.
Just as Crestron is the most popular high-end home automation company (at least in Southern California), Lutron HomeWorks is the most recognized name in lighting controls in our Los Angeles and Santa Barbara markets. Lighting control systems allow simple, elegant control of all indoor and landscape lighting.
In this home, the clients use Lutron lighting keypads or various handheld and in-wall Crestron touchpanels to control the lighting. No more unsightly multiple gangs of lights switches & dimmers...wall clutter is eliminated.
An advantage of using a home automation system to control a lighting system (such as the Crestron touchscreen shown here) is convenient access to every lighting scene in every area inside and outside of the estate. Preprogrammed lighting "scenes" such as 'ENTERTAIN', 'EVENING', 'RELAX', etc. create the perfect atmosphere at the touch of a button.
DSI Entertainment Systems designs, installs, and programs lighting control systems by Lutron, Crestron, and Vantage, the three best lighting control systems available; and home automation systems by Crestron, AMX, Control4, and Savant, the four leading home automation brands.
