The newly renovated Rusnak BMW dealership in Westlake Village, California, has two DSI designed state-of-the-art video projection systems (using Digital Projection Titan 1080p-700 projectors) in their main showroom, as well as four other video projection systems throughout. This project won "Best Special Project" at the 2009 CEDIA Electronic Lifestyles Awards due to the unique implementation of video display technology and clever use of a Crestron systems integration control system to control all aspects of the dealership. The Crestron system controls a lighting system, distributed audio, and control of various video displays and feeds throughout the showroom. All video projectors are by Digital Projection International (DPI), using Titan and dVision models.
This picture shows the first ever implementation of Stewart Filmscreen's StarGlas in such an application. StarGlas is a Class II safety code rated architectural screen that can even be used outdoors. Other unique custom audio video features of this dealership include the huge rear projection StarGlas equipped "digital billboard" display that can be seen from the 101 Ventura freeway and a full THX certified home theater in the main waiting room lobby, complete with its own Crestron wireless touchscreen control and a JBL Synthesis audio system. DSI Entertainment Systems' proprietary remote control interface was used throughout the dealership, which won Crestron's "Most Creative User Interface" award in 2008.
